Decrum's Gulch: Official Dice Game Rules
Introduction:
Decrum's Gulch is a fun and exciting dice game that can be enjoyed by players of all ages. This game is played with a Mangala board (not included) and requires beans or another small counting object as an ante.
Objective:
The objective of the game is to be the player with the highest score at the end of each round. Players are eliminated throughout the rounds until only one player remains, who is declared the winner. Keep playing until everyone else is broke.
Getting Started:
1. Number of Players: Two or more
2. Mangala Board:
The game requires a Mangala board, which is a traditional board game board with pits or wells along two long sides. While a Mangala board is traditionally used, any board with the ability to hold objects will work just as well, if not better.
3. Beans:
Each player will need a pile of beans to use as an antes. A dollar value can be assigned to the price of the bean in turn this into a lucrative gambling game
Gameplay:
1. Determining First Player: All players roll one die. The player with the highest roll goes first. If multiple players roll the same highest number, all those players roll again until a single highest roller is determined.
2. Ante Up:
Each player places an agreed-upon number of beans into a designated pot or area as an ante.
3. Taking a Turn:
On your turn, roll both die.
4. Scoring:
- Snake Eyes (Double 1): This is the highest possible score in a single roll.
- Standard Scoring: Otherwise, the face value of your die roll is your score for that turn, the higher the better (except for twelve!).
- Matching Rolls: If your roll matches another player's roll total, the other player is automatically eliminated from that round and forfeits their ante
- Disqualification: Rolling a twelve (double-six) automatically disqualifies you from the round, and you forfeit your ante.
5. Rolling Off the Table:
If your die falls off the table during your roll, you must add an additional bean to the ante pot as a penalty.
6. Double Roll:
If you roll a double (two of the same number), except for a double-six (which would eliminate you), you get an immediate bonus roll. You can continue to roll as long as you keep rolling doubles, but be mindful of the "Rolling Off the Table" rule.
Round End and Next Round:
1. Highest and Second Highest Scores: After all players have taken their turns, the players with the highest and second-highest scores for that round advance to the next round.
2. Choosing Stakes: The player with the highest score from the previous round gets to choose the ante amount for the next round and will roll first.
3. Continuing the previously described scoring convention. Whoever scores the highest wins the entire pot.
4. If you roll the same total number as your opponent, a player who is out can return and roll for a chance to win the pot, even if they don’t have any beans left.
Winning the Game:
The last player remaining after all other players have lost their beans (or have lost too much money) is the winner of Decrum's Gulch!
